Youth Citizen Association Refutes Claims by Algerian TV Channel Regarding Water Cut in Oulad Amilla Village, Moulay Yacoub

In response to a recent report aired by an Algerian television channel, the Youth Citizen Association has issued a statement refuting claims about a water supply crisis in Oulad Amilla village, located in the Ain Chkef commune of Moulay Yacoub. Local activists have criticized the report, calling it “full of misinformation and deception.”

According to the association’s president, the channel tried to “exploit a temporary issue” by painting a distorted picture of the situation, describing it as an “environmental and health crisis” that does not exist in reality. The report also made unfounded allegations about the water being contaminated with radioactive uranium, which the association described as baseless claims.

The spokesperson clarified that the temporary water shortage was due to some residents’ delays in settling their consumption bills. He noted that local authorities in Moulay Yacoub, under the supervision of the governor, took immediate action to resolve the issue, allowing the village’s water supply to resume quickly.

The association emphasized that these media attempts by some Algerian outlets to tarnish Morocco’s image and its developmental achievements would not affect the local population’s trust in its institutions, nor the positive progress the region is witnessing in various fields.
