New Governor of El Hajeb Province Vows to Accelerate Development Following Official Inauguration (Photos)

A formal ceremony was held today at the headquarters of the El Hajeb Province to officially install Mr. Omar Al-Marini as the new Governor (ʿĀmil) of the province, succeeding Mr. Zine El Abidine Zaher. The appointment is widely seen as a fresh boost to the local governance and development process.

The inauguration was overseen by Mr. Mohand Laenser, Wali of the Fez-Meknes Region, and Mr. Ryad Mezzour, Minister of Industry and Trade. The event was attended by numerous high-ranking officials and local dignitaries, reflecting the significance of the occasion.

In his speech, Mr. Al-Marini expressed deep gratitude for the royal trust bestowed upon him, affirming his strong commitment to continue and strengthen efforts aimed at achieving comprehensive development in the province. He emphasized the importance of advancing social and economic projects to meet the aspirations of the residents of El Hajeb, especially in improving public services and infrastructure.

The ceremony witnessed a large turnout of political figures, administrative leaders, elected officials, as well as civil society representatives and members of the media, in a well-organized setting that underscored the richness of Morocco’s administrative traditions.

Former Governor Mr. Zine El Abidine Zaher delivered a brief farewell address, thanking all those who supported him during his tenure and wishing his successor success in his new mission.
