Casablanca – The General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), in a communiqué received by “Fes News” newspaper via the communication cell of the Fes Security Prefecture, announced that judicial police elements in Casablanca, in coordination with the Directorate General of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle a record shipment of hallucinogenic pills on Thursday afternoon, May 22. The operation resulted in the seizure of a total of 104,000 “Rivotril” pills and 3,790 “Ecstasy” pills.
This qualitative security operation led to the arrest of three individuals suspected of being linked to a criminal network involved in the possession and trafficking of drugs and psychotropic substances.
According to preliminary investigation information, Casablanca police services arrested an individual on Wednesday, in flagrante delicto, in possession and trafficking of 9,000 “Rivotril” pills. Subsequent ongoing investigations led to the arrest of three other individuals suspected of involvement in this criminal activity.
The search operations conducted enabled the seizure of the remaining record shipments of hallucinogenic pills, which were intended for distribution nationwide.
The four suspects have been subjected to a judicial investigation overseen by the competent Public Prosecution, with the aim of arresting all individuals involved in this criminal network, as well as uncovering their potential links to other networks trafficking drugs and psychotropic substances.
