Kénitra Athletic Club Parts Ways with Coach Grindo: End of an Era and New Challenges Ahead After an Unstable Season

Kénitra Athletic Club (KACM) has officially announced the termination of its contract with head coach Abdellatif Grindo following the conclusion of the 2024/2025 football season.

The decision was made public through an official statement issued by the club on Monday. The statement noted that during a meeting held at the Khatatif training center, which brought together players and the coaching staff, the club’s board expressed appreciation for the team spirit that prevailed throughout the season.

The club extended its special thanks to coach Abdellatif Grindo, who took charge of the team in December 2024, as well as to goalkeeping coach Zouhair Lamrini, wishing both success in their future endeavors.

Grindo was appointed on December 4, 2024, following the departure of Tunisian coach Abdelhay Bensoltane due to poor results. His first test came in a tough match against RS Berkane in the 13th round of the Botola Pro, where KACM suffered a heavy 0–3 defeat. Despite that rocky start, Grindo managed to guide the team to 5 wins, 4 draws, and 7 losses, finishing the season in 11th place with 36 points.

Grindo is known for his extensive experience in Moroccan football. He has previously coached clubs such as Moghreb Tétouan—leading them to the Throne Cup final in 2022—as well as Maghreb Fès, Chabab Massira, and Olympique Dcheira. He also had a stint managing Morocco’s U-17 national team.

This decision marks a critical juncture for KACM following a fluctuating season and raises questions about the club’s future direction ahead of the upcoming campaign.
