Agadir – Royal Gendarmerie services in Taghazout successfully thwarted a major international drug trafficking operation on “La Source” beach, located north of Agadir, on Monday morning.
The operation led to the seizure of sixty (60) bundles of cannabis resin (chira), as well as the arrest of four (4) individuals suspected of belonging to a criminal network involved in this trafficking. A van and a boat, believed to have been used for the maritime transport of the illicit goods, were also seized.
This action is part of the sustained efforts undertaken by the Royal Gendarmerie services to combat organized crime and dismantle drug trafficking networks.
The suspects have been placed in police custody, while a thorough judicial investigation has been launched under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office to uncover the ramifications of this network and identify any potential accomplices.
