The Sebou Water Basin Agency is organizing the “Water Classes” event from May 14th to 16th, 2025, in the Ain Maatouf territorial commune in Taounate province, under the theme “For Awareness and Sensitization on the Importance of Preserving Water Resources.”
According to a press release from the Agency, this event is part of the implementation of the National Program for Drinking Water Supply and Irrigation 2020-2027 and targets pupils from rural primary and secondary schools in Oum Al-Qura.
The event is organized in partnership with:
- The Taounate Provincial Council
- The Regional Academy of Education and Training of the Fes-Meknes region
- The Association of Life and Earth Sciences Teachers
The program for the first day, which will begin on Wednesday, May 14th at 10:00 AM, includes:
- Cultural and recreational performances created by the pupils
- Signing of a partnership agreement between the Water Basin Agency and the Regional Academy of Education and Training
The program for the second and third days will include:
- Scientific and technical presentations
- A field visit to the Sidi Abbou dam project for pupils and their teachers
The event will be attended by the Governor of Taounate Province, the President of the Provincial Council, local authorities, representatives of the environment, water, and forestry sectors, the National Office of Electricity and Drinking Water (ONEE), as well as parents’ associations and civil society organizations.
