Local Sources Reveal: Construction of New Train Station in Meknes Begins with a Budget of 177 Million Dirhams

In a significant step toward modernizing the railway transport infrastructure in the city of Meknes, construction works have recently commenced on the new train station, which aims to improve mobility within the city and enhance the national rail network.

According to local sources, the project has a total budget of approximately 177 million dirhams and consists of two main phases. The first phase involves building a modern station on the northern side of the city, while the second phase includes the construction of a parallel station on the southern side.

These stations are expected to improve passenger flow and facilitate connections between different neighborhoods of the city and its surroundings. This will benefit both residents and visitors. The construction is scheduled to take approximately 33 months, according to the set timeline.

This project is part of a broader vision to modernize and develop Morocco’s railway infrastructure, aligning with the growing demands of mass transit and supporting environmental sustainability at the same time.
