The anti-gang squad of the Fez police prefecture arrested a 31-year-old man with a criminal record on Saturday, April 26, for his alleged involvement in the possession and trafficking of psychotropic drugs.
The suspect was apprehended in the Bensouda neighborhood of Fez, following reliable information received by the squad, which enabled his identification and arrest. A search resulted in the seizure of 802 narcotic pills, including 690 ecstasy tablets, as well as an amount of money suspected to be proceeds from this criminal activity. Further investigation through the national security database revealed that the suspect was wanted nationwide for drug trafficking.
The suspect remains in police custody for the ongoing investigation by the drug enforcement unit, under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor, to uncover all the circumstances surrounding this case. Security operations continue in order to combat the phenomenon of drug and psychotropic substance trafficking.
