“Scanner” Equipment Available, But Patients Are Directed to Fes! Questions Surround Ibn Bajah Hospital

A number of patients in the city of Taza have expressed their strong dissatisfaction with what they described as “abuse” practiced by a medical staff member at Ibn Bajah Regional Hospital in dealing with cases requiring radiology exams.

Local sources reported that the medical professional in question forces patients to undergo “scanner” tests outside the hospital, either at private clinics or at the University Hospital Complex in Fes, despite the availability of the equipment at Ibn Bajah Hospital and its proper functioning.

This behavior has sparked a wave of frustration among patients and their families, especially since being directed to healthcare centers outside the city adds to their physical and financial burdens, particularly for low-income families.

Many affected individuals are calling on the relevant health authorities to investigate these practices and take necessary measures to ensure citizens’ right to equitable and fair access to healthcare services, with enhanced monitoring mechanisms in public hospitals.
