A local source has reported that the Joint Continuous Monitoring Committee for the quality of consumer products in Boulemane Province has launched a wide-scale field campaign to inspect markets and stores. This initiative follows directives from the Governor of the province, Allal El Baz, with the aim of ensuring consumer safety and combating illegal trade practices.
According to the same source, the committee included representatives from the Economic Affairs Department of the province, the National Office for Food Safety (ONSSA), as well as local authorities and the Royal Gendarmerie. The inspections resulted in warnings issued to several vendors, in addition to the seizure and destruction of unfit food products in accordance with legal procedures.
The campaign is part of ongoing efforts to protect consumers from health risks associated with non-compliant food products, particularly during Ramadan, when demand for food items surges.
This initiative has been widely welcomed by citizens, who praised the authorities’ efforts to ensure the quality of goods available for sale and safeguard public health.
