Al Akhawayn University Hosts the 22nd Edition of “Atlas Women” Forum in Ifrane

As part of the celebration of women’s rights, Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane hosted the 22nd edition of the “Atlas Women” Forum on Thursday, March 13, 2025. The event, organized by the Azrou Center for Social Services, brought together experts and specialists from various sectors to discuss key issues related to women’s empowerment.

This year’s edition focused on transforming women’s cooperatives into a driving force for economic development, emphasizing the role of women in the social and solidarity economy. In recognition of their contributions to financial independence and economic integration, female workers in local product cooperatives were honored for their efforts.

The forum featured a study day with presentations from national institutions and experts. Bank Al-Maghrib delivered a session on the digitization of financial transactions, while the National Agency for the Promotion of Employment and Skills (ANAPEC) outlined mechanisms to support and integrate women into the job market, either through direct employment or by promoting women’s entrepreneurship.

Additionally, a special exhibition showcased products from women’s cooperatives, including traditional rugs, amlou, honey, and natural cosmetic products. This provided participants with a platform to market and promote their handmade goods to a wider audience.

Speakers at the event highlighted the importance of supporting initiatives that empower women, praising the role of the Azrou Center for Social Services in training and mentoring women in cooperatives. These efforts aim to enhance their skills and ensure their economic and social integration, contributing to their sustainable empowerment within society.
