Under direct instructions from the Governor of the Fez-Meknes region, “Fas for Development” has imposed strict measures to ensure safety and security at the work sites for the rehabilitation of streets in the city of Fez. This comes as part of the preparations for Morocco’s hosting of some events of the 2030 World Cup.
A reliable source within the company confirmed to Fez News that the contractor responsible for the work is required to provide electricity and water supplies to the work sites, in addition to creating temporary pathways to ensure safe access to the sites. The contractor is also responsible for covering all logistical costs related to temporary infrastructure.
The governor’s instructions also include the necessity of full compliance with traffic safety signs, both day and night, especially in areas near roads and railways. The contractor is obligated to coordinate with the relevant authorities to obtain the necessary permits for any temporary road closures or speed reductions in the vicinity of the work sites.
The aim of these strict measures is to present the city of Fez in its finest form to international visitors during the World Cup, while ensuring the safety of citizens and the smooth flow of traffic despite the ongoing construction work.
