Several professional associations representing taxi drivers in Fez have sent a request to the governor of the Fez-Meknès region, the governor of the Fez municipality, to intervene urgently to implement the provisions of Law 55.19 on simplifying administrative procedures and procedures, especially with regard to the renewal of the taxi drivers’ trust license.
The associations emphasized in their letter that Law 55.19 came to reduce the burden on citizens and eliminate a number of administrative complications, among the most important novelties stipulated in the law:
Abolishing the obligation to certify the signature in administrative documents.
Eliminating the obligation to provide exact copies of the original.
One copy of the required documents is sufficient.
The possibility of replacing some documents with a declaration of honor.
The correspondence pointed out that drivers face difficulties during the renewal of their license, as some administrative departments insist on requesting documents that are not stipulated in the law, which exposes professionals to work-related issues and threatens their livelihood.
The associations called for the need to respect the requirements of Law 55.19 and adhere to the government’s directives to facilitate administrative procedures and improve the quality of services provided to professionals.
The President of the Moroccan Association of Road Transport Professionals, Mr. Mohamed Messari, stressed that this intervention will contribute to protecting the interests of drivers and achieving administrative justice for them.
