Inadequate Meals at Beni Mellal Regional Hospital Spark Outrage: Union Issues Strongly Worded Statement

The union office of the Beni Mellal Regional Hospital, affiliated with the National Health Federation (UMT), has strongly condemned the quality of meals provided to healthcare workers and security staff. In a recently issued statement, the union rejected the meals outright, describing them as “inappropriate and disrespectful to the dignity of the hospital staff.”

According to the union’s statement, the meals fail to meet basic health and nutritional standards and are inadequate given the demanding nature of hospital work, especially during the holy month of Ramadan. The statement further emphasized that these meals do not provide the necessary nutritional value, causing significant hardship for medical staff, paramedics, and private security personnel who operate under challenging conditions.

The statement criticized the poor quality and insufficient quantity of the food served, calling on hospital management to take responsibility for improving meal services and to ensure the provision of balanced and dignified meals for staff.

The union also urged healthcare workers to boycott these meals until their quality is improved. Additionally, it called on the Ministry of Health and relevant authorities to intervene immediately to put an end to this negligence, which directly impacts the rights and well-being of hospital personnel.
