Anti-drug and scanning control units at Nador Port successfully foiled a smuggling attempt involving 26 kilograms of hashish (chira) intended for export to Europe.
The operation took place last Saturday when a Citroën utility vehicle, driven by a Moroccan citizen residing in Spain, was subjected to a thorough scan using an X-ray scanner, leading to the discovery of the illicit substance.
Following coordination with the public prosecutor’s office, the driver was arrested and handed over to the judicial police in Nador. He has been placed under pre-trial detention as investigations continue to determine whether this incident is linked to an organized international smuggling network.
