A delegation from the General Inspectorate of Territorial Administration (IGAT) under the Ministry of Interior has arrived in Taza from Rabat to conduct a thorough inspection of several municipal departments. This follows reports reinforcing previous findings from last year, suggesting the presence of serious administrative violations.
According to local sources, the investigation focuses on the urban planning, commercial and administrative licensing, and public works departments. The inspection team is examining compliance with regulations in the issuance of construction and renovation permits, certificates of conformity, and purchase orders. The inspectors have also requested a set of documents from department heads, including payment receipts related to administrative certificates for water and electricity supply.
The same sources revealed that the investigation has uncovered suspicions regarding the involvement of some deputies of the former Taza Municipal President, Abdelouahed El Massoudi, in irregularities related to delegated responsibilities. This could potentially lead to legal measures, including dismissal, in accordance with applicable regulations.
