Washington, – The White House announced that President Donald Trump will host a summit on cryptocurrencies on March 7. Trump is scheduled to deliver a speech during the event, which will be attended by several prominent CEOs and investors in the digital currency sector, according to a statement released by the White House on Friday evening.
The summit, to be held at the White House, will also include members of President Trump’s working group on digital assets. This meeting is part of the efforts by the U.S. administration to enhance its understanding of the cryptocurrency sector and develop clear policies regarding it.
The U.S. President recently signed an executive order establishing a working group to provide advice on policies related to digital assets. This group includes representatives from the Department of the Treasury, the Department of Justice, as well as the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).
The White House emphasized in its statement that the federal administration is committed to “providing a clear regulatory framework, fostering innovation, and protecting economic freedom.” This move comes at a time when cryptocurrencies are experiencing rapid growth, necessitating balanced policies that encourage innovation while ensuring the protection of investors and consumers.
The summit is expected to highlight the challenges and opportunities facing the digital currency sector, as well as discuss ways to strike a balance between encouraging technological innovation and ensuring financial stability.
