Tarawih Prayers in Times Square: A Unique Ramadan Event Set for March 2025

New York, NY – February 22, 2025: Way of Life SQ, in collaboration with Droplets and Muzz, is set to host a historic “Tarawih in Times Square” event on March 2, 2025, bringing the spiritual essence of Ramadan to one of the world’s most iconic locations. This unique gathering will feature Tarawih prayers, a special nightly prayer during Ramadan, and will include free Iftar meals for the first 1,500 attendees, offering a vibrant celebration of Muslim culture in the heart of New York City.

The event will take place at 46-47 Broadway, Times Square, New York, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Organized by Way of Life SQ, the initiative aims to foster community, spirituality, and cultural exchange during the holy month of Ramadan. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own prayer mats to participate in the Tarawih prayers, a tradition observed by Muslims worldwide during Ramadan evenings.

A highlight of the event is the offer of free Iftar meals for the first 1,500 people, ensuring that participants can break their fast together in a communal setting. This gesture, supported by partners Droplets and Muzz (Partners of Mercy), underscores the event’s commitment to inclusivity and support for the Muslim community in New York.

Tarawih prayers, typically held in mosques, will be brought to the bustling streets of Times Square, creating a striking juxtaposition of faith and modernity. This event not only provides a spiritual experience but also promotes interfaith understanding and cultural appreciation in a global city known for its diversity. The collaboration with organizations like Way of Life SQ and Muzz highlights the growing visibility of Muslim traditions in Western urban centers.

The event is open to the public, with attendees advised to arrive early to secure a spot for the Iftar and prayers. The location, easily accessible at the heart of Times Square, is expected to draw both local Muslims and tourists, potentially setting a precedent for future Ramadan events in major global cities.
