Taza Municipal Council Holds February 2025 Regular Session to Discuss Key Development Projects

The Taza Municipal Council is currently holding its regular February 2025 session at the municipality’s headquarters. The session, which began today, Thursday, February 6, 2025, aims to discuss several critical issues that are expected to significantly contribute to the city’s development.

The agenda includes several key points related to vital projects that are a priority in the municipality’s action plan. Top of the list is the approval of the allocation of the financial surplus from the 2024 fiscal year, which will provide additional resources for new projects that benefit the city and its residents. The session will also approve the allocation of funds that were canceled or not allocated by December 31, 2023, reflecting the municipality’s commitment to improving its financial performance.

A standout topic in this session is the proposed establishment of a new weekly market, which will be located along National Road No. 29 towards Al Hoceima. This market is expected to provide a well-organized and safe environment for both traders and consumers, boosting commercial activity in the area. The council will also discuss the approval of organizational decisions related to managing the market and the best ways to oversee its operation, including approving the tender documents for its administration.

Another important issue on the agenda is the delegation of management for other vital facilities, such as parking stations and the public swimming pool. This management delegation aims to ensure high-quality and sustainable services by establishing appropriate conditions for working with the involved companies. This initiative is expected to improve services for citizens and generate additional resources for the municipality.

Additionally, the council will discuss the leasing of commercial spaces in the Al Massira 1 commercial complex and the new weekly market, with the opening rental prices to be determined by the administrative expertise committee. These steps will help organize the commercial markets in the city and stimulate economic activity.

The focus on the future extends beyond current projects, with discussions also covering long-term city development plans. One key topic is a draft regulatory decision related to organizing traffic within the city, reflecting the municipality’s commitment to improving infrastructure and making the city more flexible and safer.

Local stakeholders are eagerly awaiting the outcomes of this session, which will set the direction for the coming period. The community is particularly interested in how these decisions will impact the city on the ground and contribute to improving services and overall development.
