According to a reliable source, “Fes News” has learned that the Fes-Meknes Football League is witnessing intense competition between the lists of Mohamed Jilili and Abdel Salam Bouaz for the presidency of the league, during the General Assembly scheduled to be held on January 24, 2025, in Meknes. The conflict goes beyond the electoral race, reflecting the backdrop of longstanding disputes that clubs have experienced under the league, which has been significantly impacted by previous administrative decisions.
Several clubs that suffered from harsh suspensions and penalties in past years have called for a change in leadership, prompting Bouaz to enter the race. Bouaz, who enjoys significant support from the affected clubs, is considered a strong candidate due to their desire for reform of the current situation.
However, legal challenges remain a critical factor in this election. According to the regulations, both the annual and financial reports must be sent to the clubs at least ten days before the General Assembly meeting, which has not been done yet, raising concerns about the integrity of the electoral process. Despite protests from some clubs, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation has yet to take decisive action to address this violation.
On the other hand, Mohamed Jilili, who is competing for the presidency, faces sharp criticism regarding his administration. His failure to hold any general assembly since assuming the presidency has sparked widespread protests from clubs complaining of a lack of transparency and communication. This situation heightens concerns over the integrity of the electoral process and complicates Jilili’s position in the race.
In these circumstances, the responsibility for rectifying the situation falls on the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, which must ensure the application of the regulations governing general assemblies and elections. Failure to intervene to correct these violations could tarnish the reputation of the elections and threaten their integrity, which would negatively affect the electoral process and the future of the league.
