Complaints from citizens in the city of Khemisset regarding the occupation of public property continue to surface, with many expressing their frustration over the current situation that hinders pedestrian movement. In a letter received by the newspaper, one citizen pointed out that “the Khemisset citizen is not merely an unaware individual regarding his rights, but rather a civilized and aware person who respects the law.” However, he finds himself compelled to walk in the middle of the street, putting his life at risk due to the occupation of sidewalks.
The citizen emphasized that this phenomenon is primarily due to “the fierce assault by those occupying public property,” who have blocked pedestrian pathways and filled the roads with obstacles, forcing people to walk alongside vehicles. He explained that this situation exposes citizens, especially children, to real dangers from cars and trucks.
He also urged officials to take urgent action to liberate public property, stressing the need to provide a safe environment for pedestrians. He concluded by saying: “This is a message from you… may it illuminate the path towards positive change.”
This call reflects an urgent need to reconsider the organization of public property and ensure citizens’ rights to use sidewalks safely.
