Judicial police in Larache arrested a 44-year-old man on Tuesday evening on charges of impersonating a Crown Prosecutor.
According to details published by “Al Ahdath Al Maghribia” newspaper, the security patrol arrested the suspect, who is from the Sidi Yamani region, after he attempted to deceive a resident of the rural community of Laouamra by claiming to be a Crown Prosecutor, offering to intervene in a case concerning him and promising to solve his problems.
Sources added that the victim, who became suspicious of the situation, quickly reported the matter to Larache security services, leading to the intervention of security forces and the arrest of the suspect, who was placed in custody.
The suspect faces charges of fraud and impersonation of a public official, which are offenses regulated by law. He has not yet made any statements regarding the charges against him.
The judicial police continue their investigations into the case to uncover all its circumstances and determine whether the suspect has other victims.
