This action, described as an “environmental massacre,” has angered local residents and environmental activists alike.

Trees over 100 years old were cut down, prompting the association and citizens to demand urgent intervention from the authorities and the opening of a judicial investigation into the matter.

Demolition Operations in Inezgane

“Al-Ahdath Al-Maghribia” reported that the provincial authorities in Inezgane have begun extensive demolition operations of slums and illegal buildings along the Souss River estuary. These operations were carried out after consultations with affected residents, with authorities emphasizing that the goal is to improve the urban environment and ensure citizens’ safety.

Monitoring the Situation of Moroccans in Lebanon

“Bayane Al-Youm” published a report by the Simsim Association – Citizen Participation, revealing the continued low attendance rates of parliamentarians in legislative sessions of the House of Representatives. According to the report, the general attendance rate was 37.28%, with the highest attendance rate (59.24%) recorded during the session to approve the 2024 Finance Bill.

Finally, the newspaper “Al-Alam” reported that the construction of the “Ghiss” dam in Al Hoceima province has reached its final stages. Project manager Hassan El Ouakili confirmed that the work progress has reached 99%, with the project expected to be delivered in the first quarter of 2025. The dam is expected to play an important role in enhancing drinking water supplies for the city of Al Hoceima and neighboring areas.
