Youssef Abouda’s death draws Minister Benmoussa into question on protecting soccer players from sudden fatal accidents

The death of Youssef Abouda, a former Morocco Fassi and Wydad Fassi player, while practicing his regular training duties last Friday, has shaken the Moroccan sports community.

The MP for the northern Fes constituency, Touhami El Wazzani, wrote a written question to the Minister of National Education, Primary Education and Sports about protecting soccer players from sudden accidents that take their lives.

In his question, Wazzani stressed the need to take serious steps to protect football players from sudden accidents, pointing out the frequency of these painful accidents in recent times.

He called on the minister to equip all national stadiums with emergency medical staff and equipment for immediate and immediate intervention to provide life-saving aid, as well as enabling soccer players to receive regular medical follow-up.

Wazani asked the minister what measures the ministry will take to protect soccer players from sudden accidents that take their lives.
