Local sources have received a statement from the National Education Union, affiliated with the Moroccan Labor Union in Sefrou, expressing its strong condemnation of the Ministry of National Education, Preschool, and Sports’ decision to transfer the regional director from Taounate to Sefrou. The union considers this decision to reinforce the classification of the province as a “disciplinary zone” without clear justification.
The regional office of the union voiced its surprise at the appointment of a former official described in the statement as “failed” in managing educational affairs in Taounate, where the directorate was reportedly ranked among the “red directorates” according to external evaluation reports issued by the ministry.
The statement suggested that this transfer carries punitive implications for the province of Sefrou and questioned the criteria used by the ministry in making such decisions, as well as their impact on the quality of education in the region.
Furthermore, the statement denounced what it described as the “systematic marginalization” suffered by the province’s educational system, criticizing the inadequate financial allocations for constructing and rehabilitating schools. This, according to the union, has contributed to turning the region into an area for “administrative punishment” rather than educational development.
In conclusion, the union warned against any administrative measures that might hinder the educational process in the province, calling on the minister to provide clarifications to the national and educational public regarding these decisions.
