Rabat – La Tour Mohammed VI, située dans la capitale Rabat, a réalisé un nouvel exploit après avoir obtenu la certification internationale LEED Gold dédiée à la construction durable, une distinction qui renforce la position du Maroc parmi les projets urbains respectueux de l’environnement à l’échelle mondiale.

La tour, qui culmine à 250 mètres de hauteur, est considérée comme le plus haut gratte-ciel du continent africain et l’un des projets emblématiques des deux rives du fleuve Bouregreg dans le cadre de la transformation urbaine que connaît la capitale.
The tower, standing at 250 meters tall, is considered the tallest skyscraper on the African continent and one of the landmark projects overlooking both banks of the Bouregreg River as part of Rabat’s urban transformation.

L’édifice, conçu par les architectes Rafael de La-Hoz et Hakim Benjelloun, comprend un hôtel de luxe, des appartements haut de gamme ainsi qu’une plateforme panoramique. Le projet s’appuie sur une structure d’ingénierie capable de résister aux vents violents, aux inondations et aux secousses sismiques. Environ 70 % de la solidité du bâtiment provient de son noyau central en béton armé, tandis que les façades en acier assurent le reste de la structure.
The project relies on an engineering structure capable of withstanding strong winds, floods, and seismic activity. Around 70 percent of the building’s strength comes from its reinforced concrete core, while steel façades provide the remaining structural support.

Dans le cadre de la réduction de l’empreinte carbone, près de 5 000 tonnes de ciment “ECOPlanet” à faibles émissions, développé par la société Holcim, ont été utilisées. Cette initiative a permis de réduire les émissions de dioxyde de carbone de 32 %, soit environ mille tonnes de moins par rapport au ciment traditionnel.
As part of efforts to reduce the carbon footprint, nearly 5,000 tons of low-emission “ECOPlanet” cement developed by Holcim were used. This helped cut carbon dioxide emissions by 32 percent, equivalent to reducing nearly one thousand tons of emissions compared to traditional cement.

La tour repose également sur un système énergétique avancé comprenant environ 4 000 mètres carrés de panneaux solaires alimentant un réseau interne destiné à la gestion du refroidissement, de la ventilation, des ascenseurs et des différents services techniques.
The tower also relies on an advanced energy system featuring around 4,000 square meters of solar panels powering an internal network that manages cooling, ventilation, elevators, and various technical services.

Le projet a également obtenu la certification internationale “HQE”, reflétant le respect des normes de haute qualité environnementale et confirmant l’orientation du Maroc vers le développement d’infrastructures modernes répondant aux exigences du développement durable.
The project has also earned the international “HQE” certification, reflecting compliance with high environmental quality standards and confirming Morocco’s commitment to developing modern infrastructure that meets sustainable development requirements.

La Tour Mohammed VI, visible à plus de 50 kilomètres à la ronde, est désormais devenue un nouveau symbole architectural du Maroc, alliant identité architecturale marocaine et technologies modernes dans le domaine de la construction bas carbone.
Mohammed VI Tower, visible from distances exceeding 50 kilometers, has become a new architectural landmark in Morocco, combining Moroccan architectural identity with modern low-carbon construction technologies.
