Tension at the Higher School of Teachers in Fès: Union Calls for Investigation into Alleged Assault on Staff Member

Fès – The regional office for the Fès–Meknes region of the National Union of Labour in Morocco (UNTM) issued a statement condemning what it described as a “verbal and physical assault” against a staff member inside the Higher School of Teachers in Fes, according to the document dated February 23, 2026.

The statement indicated that the incident, as presented by the regional office based on information from the institution’s local office, involved practices that “undermine human dignity and professional respect.” It called for the opening of a “fair and urgent” administrative investigation to clarify the circumstances of the incident, determine responsibilities transparently, and ensure accountability.

The same source expressed solidarity with the concerned employee, emphasizing that “the dignity of workers is a red line that cannot be compromised,” and calling for the preservation of a respectful work environment within the institution in accordance with applicable laws and procedures.
