On Tuesday, July 8, 2025, police officers from the Marrakech Security Directorate arrested a 44-year-old French national of Algerian origin who is subject to an international arrest warrant issued by French judicial authorities.
The suspect was apprehended after his identification through the Interpol database revealed that he is wanted internationally based on a red notice issued by French authorities. He is suspected of involvement with a criminal network engaged in international drug trafficking.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the individual is wanted by French justice for his alleged role between 2020 and 2021 in organizing international drug trafficking operations directed towards southern France.
Following his arrest, the suspect underwent legal procedures related to the extradition process before being referred to the competent public prosecutor. French security authorities were duly notified of the arrest.
