King Mohammed VI sent a message of condolence and sympathy to the family of Professor Abdelhaq El Merini, the Kingdom’s historian and the official spokesperson of the Royal Palace, expressing his deep sorrow over the loss of this prominent national figure.
In his message, the King stated: “We received with deep sadness and regret the news of the passing of our devoted servant on earth, Professor Abdelhaq El Merini, historian of the Kingdom of Morocco and the official spokesperson of our esteemed Royal Palace. May God grant him a place by His side during these blessed days of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah, enveloped in forgiveness and mercy.”
His Majesty added: “In the face of this painful loss, we can only extend to you, and through you to all the deceased’s relatives, friends, admirers, and his large academic and cultural family, our heartfelt condolences and sincere sympathy for the loss of a pillar of your family and a distinguished intellectual and cultural figure, as well as a loyal servant of our country.”
