Morocco – Wydad Athletic Club officially announced yesterday, Sunday, the inclusion of Moroccan national team goalkeeper Yassine Bounou on the club’s list of golden members, making him the first golden member in the team’s history and assigning him number 001.
The club explained that Bounou, who graduated from the Wydad Athletic Club’s training center, has inaugurated the new “golden members” category, after the club selected him as the first name to be included in this newly established category.
Yassine Bounou, goalkeeper of the Moroccan national team, is one of the graduates of Wydad Athletic Club’s football academy. He received his training at the Casablanca-based club before continuing his professional football career.
By officially joining the list of golden members, Bounou has been assigned number 001, becoming the first person to receive this status in the history of Wydad Athletic Club.
According to the club, this initiative comes as part of linking one of its former players to a new chapter in Wydad’s history by including him in a special category of members.
Wydad Athletic Club expressed its pride in Bounou’s affiliation with the club, emphasizing its pride that the Moroccan international goalkeeper continues to carry the name of the Casablanca-based team “with pride and honor.”
This tribute comes as Yassine Bounou continues to represent Moroccan football at the international level, having become one of the leading goalkeepers of the Moroccan national team.
It is worth recalling that Bounou has been associated with Wydad since his formative years, before moving on to pursue his professional career, while the club has maintained its connection with one of the most prominent graduates of its training center.

Maroc – Le Wydad Athletic Club a officiellement annoncé, hier dimanche, l’intégration du gardien de but de l’équipe nationale marocaine Yassine Bounou à la liste des membres d’or du club, devenant ainsi le premier membre d’or de l’histoire de l’équipe et portant le numéro 001.
Le club a expliqué que Bounou, qui est issu du centre de formation du Wydad Athletic Club, inaugure ainsi cette nouvelle catégorie des « membres d’or », après avoir été choisi par le club pour être le premier nom à intégrer cette catégorie nouvellement créée.
Yassine Bounou, gardien de but de l’équipe nationale marocaine, est l’un des joueurs issus de l’école de formation du Wydad Athletic Club. Il a reçu sa formation au sein du club casablancais avant de poursuivre sa carrière professionnelle dans le football.
En rejoignant officiellement la liste des membres d’or, Bounou porte le numéro 001, devenant ainsi le premier à bénéficier de ce statut dans l’histoire du Wydad Athletic Club.
Cette initiative intervient, selon ce qu’a annoncé le club, dans le cadre de l’inscription de l’un de ses anciens joueurs dans une nouvelle page de l’histoire du Wydad, à travers son intégration dans une catégorie spéciale de membres.
Le Wydad Athletic Club a exprimé sa fierté de l’appartenance de Bounou au club, soulignant sa fierté de voir le gardien international marocain continuer à porter le nom du club casablancais « avec fierté et honneur ».
