The General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) in Morocco has issued a weather warning for the upcoming weekend, forecasting snowfall and strong winds accompanied by dust storms in several regions of the kingdom.
According to the weather bulletin released by the Directorate, snowfall ranging from 10 to 40 centimeters is expected on heights exceeding 1,800 meters. These snow showers will affect the provinces of Azilal, Al Haouz, Tinghir, Midelt, Ouarzazate, and Taroudant, starting from 10 AM on Saturday until 12 PM on Sunday.
The Directorate has also warned of strong winds with speeds ranging between 70 and 85 kilometers per hour, accompanied by dust storms in several areas. These winds will affect the provinces of Sidi Ifni, Chtouka Ait Baha, Agadir Ida-Outanane, Inezgane-Ait Melloul, Guelmim, Tiznit, Al Haouz, Taroudant, and Tan-Tan. The winds are expected to start from midnight Saturday to Sunday and continue until 6 PM on Sunday.
The General Directorate of Meteorology has issued an orange alert, indicating a moderate level of danger, urging citizens to exercise caution and remain vigilant during this period.
These weather forecasts come at a time when the kingdom is experiencing notable climate fluctuations. The expected weather conditions are likely to affect traffic and citizen safety in the affected areas. Therefore, the relevant authorities are calling on all citizens to take necessary precautions and adhere to safety instructions issued by the competent authorities.
