Raja’s Crisis: Disappointing Results and Angry Fans

Raja Casablanca has been going through a difficult period since the beginning of the current season, with the Green Eagles facing a series of problems and crises that are intensifying day by day. After an exceptional 2023-2024 season during which the team won both the Moroccan league and the Throne Cup, Raja is currently experiencing a significant decline in results and performance.

The problems began with the arrest of the club’s former president, Mohamed Boudrika, in Germany last July. Boudrika was subject to an international search warrant on charges related to fraud and embezzlement. This was followed by the departure of successful coach Josef Zinnbauer due to non-payment of his financial dues despite the excellent results he achieved with the team.

The club then witnessed a rapid succession of coaches, with Bosnian Rusmir Cviko failing to achieve any victories during his short tenure. Portuguese Ricardo Sa Pinto then came in but managed only one win in 10 matches across various competitions, leaving the team at the bottom of their group in the African Champions League with just one point.

These negative results have angered Raja fans, who have called for the departure of the current board of directors headed by Adil Hala. Goalkeeper Anas Zniti has also faced harsh criticism due to his declining performance, culminating in a clash with some fans following the recent loss to Sundowns in South Africa.

The club is also facing other crises, such as the case of player Yousri Bouzok, who refused to wear a shirt bearing the complete map of Morocco, forcing the club to backtrack on using this shirt in the Champions League.

Under these difficult circumstances, the question remains whether Raja can save its season and emerge from this escalating crisis that threatens the future of one of Morocco’s most prestigious clubs.
