Rabat – Special
The doctors of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, Water, and Forests have announced the organization of a “Day of Anger” on Thursday, December 5, 2024, to denounce the deteriorating professional conditions they are experiencing and to demand a change in their professional status.
Members of the executive office of the National Committee of Doctors held a meeting on November 26, 2024, in Rabat to study the situation of employees holding doctoral degrees within the ministry and to discuss the outcome of changing their professional status.
The statement issued by the committee revealed a number of major discrepancies in this dossier, most notably:
- The freezing of the 2011 agreement regarding the settlement of the status of public service doctors and their integration as lecturers.
- The demand to increase the number of positions for changing the professional status of ministry doctors, similar to what was done with the doctors of the Ministries of Health and National Education.
- The call for a comprehensive census of the sector’s doctors in order to change their professional status.
The National Committee of Doctors called on all sector affiliates to participate in the protest by wearing red armbands at their workplaces, denouncing the current situation and holding the ministry accountable.
This protest comes in the context of demanding the improvement of professional conditions for doctors and the activation of the principle of equal opportunities among employees.
End of statement.
