Fes Grand Stadium is currently undergoing extensive renovations to prepare for hosting the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. Under the supervision of the National Company for the Development and Management of Sports Facilities (Sonarges), the stadium is receiving comprehensive updates to improve both its internal and external facilities, aligning with international standards for major sporting events.
The renovation works are divided into two phases:
- Phase 1 focuses on updating locker rooms, entrances, and other facilities to accommodate teams and spectators during the tournament.
- Phase 2, which will begin after the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, will involve removing the rubber track, upgrading the pitch, and improving parking facilities to meet the demands of large-scale events.
The seating capacity of the stadium is expected to increase to 49,200, with plans to reach 55,800 seats by 2030. This upgrade aims to position Fes Grand Stadium as one of the premier sports venues in the region, contributing to Morocco’s ambitions to enhance its sporting profile on both the African and international stages, particularly in its bid to host the 2030 World Cup.
