In a step aimed at bolstering political stability and supporting development projects in the city of Taza, a group of political parties announced today, November 14, 2024, the formation of a new majority coalition to lead the Taza Municipal Council.
The coalition, comprising the Istiqlal Party, the National Rally of Independents, the Party of Progress and Socialism, the Justice and Development Party, the Renaissance Party, the Reform and Development Party, and the independent list “Al-Karama” (Dignity), has agreed to work collaboratively in a spirit of unity and cooperation.
According to a joint statement signed on the same date, the parties have decided to appoint Mr. Mounir Benchouich, head of the Istiqlal Party list, as council president for the upcoming term. The new council office aims to foster a dynamic environment that meets the aspirations of the local population and fulfills the city’s development needs.
The coalition expressed its commitment to diligent work to address the needs of Taza’s residents within the framework of national efforts aimed at achieving sustainable development and strengthening national unity under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
This political agreement reflects the parties’ dedication to responsibly advancing major development projects in the city and addressing current challenges with an open vision for a prosperous future for Taza and its citizens.
