Tomorrow, November 3, 2024, the Grand Hall of the Fes District Council will host a significant regional conference organized by the Moroccan Scout Organization in collaboration with the preparatory committee for the upcoming eighth National Congress.
The event, titled “The Outcome of Participatory Democracy in Morocco: What Role for the Scouting Movement?” aims to bolster youth involvement in community development and solidify the values of participatory democracy.
Key speakers include Dr. Hassan Saber, Head of Youth and Sports at the Regional Directorate of Fes-Meknes; Dr. Rokia Achmal, university professor and member of the National Council of the Istiqlal Party; Dr. Hakima Hatari, university professor and executive member of the Istiqlal Women’s Organization; and Professor Abdelhafid Admino, university professor and member of the Istiqlal Party’s Executive Committee.
The conference will explore various topics, such as evaluating the effectiveness of participatory democracy in Morocco and examining the role that the scouting movement can play in fostering civic awareness among youth and encouraging their active participation in national issues.
Organizers hope the event will enhance the scouting movement’s role as a leadership training platform for young people and a supporter of civil society in Morocco.
