FEZ – The Regional Directorate of Health and Social Protection in Fez-Meknes organized a two-day workshop on October 21-22, 2024, at the Continuing Education Center, aimed at strengthening the capabilities of teams working in maternal and child health and health planning.
This initiative comes as part of implementing the integrated national policy for child health from birth to age 18 by 2030, and the implementation of the national multi-sectoral child health plan at the Fez-Meknes regional level.
The workshop, supervised by the Population Directorate of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection with support from the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), saw broad participation from officials responsible for the child program at the Population Directorate, staff from the Regional Directorate of Health and Social Protection, as well as heads of healthcare facility networks services in the region’s prefectures and provinces, and child health focal points and staff.
The workshop concluded with establishing a framework for developing the regional multi-sectoral child health plan, derived from the national plan, while taking into account the local specificities of the Fez-Meknes region.
This initiative aims to improve healthcare services provided to children in the region and enhance coordination between various sectors concerned with child health to ensure comprehensive and effective health coverage.
