In a video post on her personal X platform account, French Parliamentarian “France Jamet” expressed her position during a session of the European Union:
“The European Court of Justice is violating the diplomatic sovereignty of states and contributing to the chaos in the Maghreb region. Check out my intervention in the Fisheries Committee.”
The French Parliamentarian affirmed that the European Court of Justice’s decision to annul the fishing agreements between the European Union and Morocco constitutes a violation of the diplomatic sovereignty of the countries concerned.
Jamet added that this decision contributes to deepening the chaos in the Maghreb region, expressing her opposition to it.
The French Parliamentarian stressed that Morocco has the sovereign right to grant fishing licenses to European countries in its territorial waters, including the waters surrounding Western Sahara.
The positions of the French Parliamentarian come in the context of France’s affirmation of its support for Morocco’s sovereignty over its Sahara and its categorical rejection of the decision issued by the European Court of Justice to annul the fishing agreements.
