The General Directorate of Meteorology in Morocco has issued an orange-level warning alert, cautioning about strong thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds in several regions of the country today, Monday.
According to the bulletin, the provinces of Laayoune, Smara, Boujdour, Oued Ed-Dahab, and Assa-Zag will experience thunderstorms ranging from 20 to 40 mm, accompanied by strong winds, from 9 AM to 10 PM.
For Tuesday, the Directorate predicts a drop in temperatures with relatively hot to hot weather continuing in the southeastern part of the country and the eastern Saharan provinces. Low clouds and fog are expected along the northern and central coasts during the morning and night.
The regions of the High and Middle Atlas mountains and their eastern slopes, as well as the northern Saharan provinces, will see the growth of unstable clouds that may lead to rainfall or thundershowers. The central regions will have partly cloudy skies, with relatively strong winds expected on the central coasts and southern provinces.
Minimum temperatures will range between 27 and 32 degrees in the southeast and inland Saharan provinces, between 22 and 28 degrees in the western plains of the Atlas, Moulouya, central regions, and areas of the Anti-Atlas, while ranging between 15 and 22 degrees in the rest of the kingdom.
As for sea conditions, they will be calm in the Mediterranean, calm to slightly rough in the Strait of Gibraltar, and slightly rough to rough on the Atlantic coasts, with expectations of rough to very rough conditions between Cape Hadid and Cape Ghir.
