A tropical depression has begun to affect the southern regions of Morocco, according to meteorological sources today. Tropical cumulonimbus clouds have been observed currently covering large areas of the interior southern and central parts of the country, accompanied by thunder and scattered showers.
The weather condition is expected to intensify starting from this evening and throughout Monday, with several parts of the Sahara regions likely to experience local rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms. Unstable and fluctuating weather will prevail in these areas, with the possibility of this condition continuing intermittently and in scattered regions until mid-week.
Forecasts indicate that as the depression moves eastward, the unstable weather condition is expected to shift to the eastern parts of the kingdom starting from mid-week.
Relevant authorities have called on citizens in the affected areas to exercise caution and vigilance, especially in areas prone to flash floods. They also advised following updated weather bulletins and adhering to guidelines issued by concerned parties.
It’s worth noting that these unusual weather phenomena at this time of the year may be linked to global climate changes, which calls for more attention and study by meteorologists and climate experts.
The concerned authorities will continue to closely monitor the situation and issue necessary updates to maintain the safety of citizens and their properties during this period of weather fluctuations.
