The Royal Gendarmerie in Ghafsay, near Taounate, arrested two people suspected of involvement in a serious crime committed against a girl, while the search is still ongoing for two others in the case that witnessed the kidnapping, detention and brutal assault on the victim, which ended with the extraction of her teeth with tweezers before she was left in a remote area covered in her own blood.
Last weekend, a girl in her twenties was found in critical condition near a bridge in the Zreika neighborhood of Ghafsay, bearing signs of physical abuse all over her body, with her teeth knocked out.
The girl was rushed to the regional hospital, then transferred to the University Hospital in Fez due to her serious condition.
According to preliminary investigations, the incident began during a drinking session at the home of one of the detainees, where a dispute broke out between those present, which evolved into the kidnapping of the girl and taking her to a ravine in the area. There, the suspects took turns raping and assaulting her, before disposing of her in that remote area.
