Morocco and Guinea-Bissau Sign Multiple Cooperation Agreements in Laayoune

Laayoune, Morocco – The city of Laayoune witnessed on Tuesday the signing of a series of agreements and memoranda of understanding between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Guinea-Bissau, concluding the work of the third session of the Joint Cooperation Committee between the two countries.

The agreements were signed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, and his Guinea-Bissau counterpart, Carlos Pinto Pereira. Both ministers expressed their satisfaction with the spirit of brotherhood and mutual understanding that characterized this meeting.

The signed agreements covered various areas, including:

  1. An agreement on mutual administrative assistance in customs matters.
  2. An agreement on road transport of passengers and goods.
  3. An agreement on the mutual recognition of driving licenses.
  4. A cooperation convention in the field of livestock health protection.
  5. A memorandum of understanding in the field of justice.
  6. A memorandum of understanding for commercial cooperation.
  7. A memorandum of understanding for cooperation in integrated water resource management.
  8. A memorandum of understanding in the areas of national territory planning, urban planning, housing, and city policy.
  9. A memorandum of understanding for cooperation in information and communication.
  10. Memoranda of understanding in the areas of youth and women’s activities, sports, and staff training.
  11. A framework agreement for cooperation in vocational training.
  12. A framework cooperation agreement on granting academic scholarships, internships, and expertise sharing.
  13. A twinning agreement in the field of health professionals training.
  14. An implementation program in the field of crafts and social and solidarity economy for the period 2024-2026.

The ministers expressed their delight with the results of this important meeting, which allowed for the identification of various cooperation projects and actions to be jointly implemented, aiming to give new momentum to the cooperative relations between Morocco and Guinea-Bissau.

It is worth noting that these agreements reflect the depth of bilateral relations between the two countries and affirm their mutual desire to strengthen cooperation in various fields.
