Moroccan Police Dismantle Cocaine and Drug Trafficking Network in Marrakech

In its ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking, the Judicial Police in Marrakech have successfully dealt a significant blow to a network specializing in the distribution of cocaine and other drugs.

The security operation, carried out by the Anti-Gang Unit, resulted in the arrest of three individuals in two separate operations.

In the first operation on Sunday, a person was arrested in the act of possessing and distributing cocaine. The suspect was caught with 17 packets of cocaine, along with a sum of money believed to be proceeds from this criminal activity. The suspect was using a rented utility vehicle to facilitate distribution operations.

The second operation, conducted on Saturday, led to the arrest of two brothers caught in possession and distribution of a variety of drugs, including cocaine, hashish, and psychotropic pills. Large quantities of these drugs were seized in their vehicle and residence, along with tools used in the preparation and distribution of drugs.

The seizures from both operations include:

  • Over 350 grams of cocaine
  • 44 slabs of hashish
  • Approximately 4,130 ecstasy pills
  • Tools for weighing and preparing drugs
  • Smartphones and money suspected to be from drug trafficking proceeds

The suspects have been placed in police custody in coordination with the competent public prosecutor’s office. They are under investigation to uncover more details about this criminal network and identify other individuals involved.

This successful operation underscores the continued efforts of Moroccan security agencies in combating drug trafficking and protecting society from its harmful effects.
