Casablanca: The judicial police squad of the Al Hassani district security area in Casablanca opened a judicial investigation today, Sunday, April 20th, under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office. The investigation aims to determine the circumstances surrounding the deaths of two infants while they were in the care of a 54-year-old woman running a nursery.
Initial findings of the investigation indicate that the emergency department of the local hospital in the Al Hassani district received two infants, aged eight months and two years respectively, on Saturday and Sunday morning. Both infants were suffering from medical complications that led to their deaths. Investigations revealed that the children were being cared for by a woman in her home, along with other children for a fee, but under unsuitable sanitary conditions.
The bodies of the deceased infants have been deposited in the morgue for autopsy to determine the actual causes of death, which are suspected to be the result of medical complications and the unsanitary conditions of the nursery. Meanwhile, the remaining children who were in the same care facility and showed signs of illness have been transferred to the local hospital to receive the necessary medical attention, examinations, and treatment.
The competent judicial police are currently conducting the necessary investigations and inquiries under the supervision of the public prosecutor’s office to uncover all the circumstances surrounding this case.
