In a significant security development, Moroccan authorities have apprehended a 25-year-old woman in Marrakech on suspicion of her involvement in a serious case involving the abduction of a minor and exploiting him for begging.
The arrest took place on Sunday, July 7, 2024, following a coordinated effort between judicial police elements in Marrakech and their counterparts in Kenitra. The case began when a woman in Kenitra filed a report accusing her neighbor of kidnapping her three-year-old son.
Intensive investigations and searches led to the suspect being caught red-handed in Marrakech, where she was exploiting the abducted child for begging activities. The accused has been placed under preventive custody pending the completion of investigations, which are being conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office.
