The General Directorate of National Security announced the results of the intensive security operations it launched to crack down on cheating during the baccalaureate exams for the 2023-2024 academic year.
These operations resulted in the arrest of 58 people nationwide, including 8 women and 5 minors, for their suspected involvement in committing acts and offenses related to cheating and participating in school exams.
Some of these security operations were carried out in coordination with the services of the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance, between June 10 and 13, and included the arrest of suspects caught in the act of possessing and promoting wireless communication tools and equipment that were used to cheat, in addition to their involvement in leaking and publishing exam questions on social networking sites.
The arrests and searches enabled the seizure of electronic equipment that was used to facilitate cheating operations, including 50 cell phones, 459 batteries, 16 headphones, and 3 computers.
These intensive security operations come within the framework of the General Directorate of National Security’s keenness to implement the legal and regulatory controls related to the suppression of cheating, and to ensure that the baccalaureate exams are conducted in appropriate and fair conditions.
The General Directorate of National Security emphasizes its determination to continue its efforts to combat the phenomenon of cheating in all examinations.
