Rabat – La République de Guinée-Bissau a réaffirmé, ce lundi, son soutien à l’intégrité territoriale du Royaume du Maroc, en réitérant sa reconnaissance de la souveraineté marocaine sur l’ensemble de son territoire, y compris les provinces du Sud. Elle a également renouvelé son appui à l’Initiative marocaine d’autonomie, qu’elle considère comme la seule solution sérieuse et crédible pour régler le différend régional autour du Sahara marocain.
Cette position a été exprimée par la ministre des Affaires étrangères, de la Coopération internationale et des Communautés de Guinée-Bissau, Fatoumata Gaw, à l’issue de ses entretiens à Rabat avec le ministre marocain des Affaires étrangères, de la Coopération africaine et des Marocains résidant à l’étranger, Nasser Bourita.

La ministre bissau-guinéenne a réaffirmé le soutien constant de son pays à l’intégrité territoriale du Maroc, saluant l’Initiative d’autonomie proposée par le Royaume et la qualifiant de solution réaliste et crédible pour mettre fin à ce différend.
Elle a également souligné l’importance de l’ouverture du consulat général de son pays à Dakhla en octobre 2020, estimant que cette démarche reflète la solidité des relations bilatérales et s’inscrit dans la dynamique internationale croissante de soutien à la souveraineté du Maroc sur son Sahara et à son Initiative d’autonomie.
Dans le même contexte, la cheffe de la diplomatie bissau-guinéenne a salué les dispositions de la résolution 2797 du Conseil de sécurité des Nations unies, estimant qu’elle renforce la place de l’Initiative d’autonomie sous souveraineté marocaine comme base d’un règlement politique durable, réaliste et mutuellement acceptable de ce différend régional.
Cette prise de position vient renforcer la série de soutiens internationaux en faveur de l’Initiative marocaine d’autonomie, dans un contexte marqué par un appui régional et international croissant à cette proposition comme cadre de règlement de la question du Sahara marocain.
Moroccan Sahara: Guinea-Bissau Reaffirms Full Support for Morocco’s Sovereignty and the Autonomy Initiative
Rabat – The Republic of Guinea-Bissau on Monday reaffirmed its support for the territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Morocco, reiterating its recognition of Morocco’s sovereignty over its entire territory, including the southern provinces. It also renewed its backing for the Moroccan Autonomy Initiative, describing it as the only serious and credible solution to the regional dispute over the Moroccan Sahara.
The position was expressed by Fatoumata Gaw, Guinea-Bissau’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Communities, following talks in Rabat with Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita.
The Guinean official reiterated her country’s unwavering support for Morocco’s territorial integrity, praising the Autonomy Initiative proposed by Morocco and describing it as a realistic and credible solution to resolve the regional dispute.
She also highlighted the significance of the opening of Guinea-Bissau’s Consulate General in Dakhla in October 2020, stating that the move reflects the strong bilateral relations between the two countries and aligns with the growing international momentum in support of Morocco’s sovereignty over the Sahara and its Autonomy Initiative.
In the same context, the foreign minister welcomed the provisions of United Nations Security Council Resolution 2797, considering that it reinforces the Autonomy Initiative under Moroccan sovereignty as the basis for achieving a lasting, realistic, and mutually acceptable political solution to the regional dispute.
This renewed position adds to the growing list of international endorsements for Morocco’s Autonomy Initiative, amid increasing regional and international support for the proposal as the framework for resolving the Moroccan Sahara issue.
