Rabat, Morocco – 10 June 2024 – The Central African Republic reiterated on Monday its firm position in support of the territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Morocco, expressing its attachment to the Moroccan Sahara.
During a press conference following her talks with Minister of Foreign Affairs, Francophonie and Central Africans Abroad, Sylvie Baibo Timon, reiterated her country’s support for the autonomy plan presented by the Kingdom of Morocco as an optimal solution to settle the dispute over the Sahara, said Minister of Foreign Affairs, Francophonie and Central Africans Abroad, Nasser Bourita.
Stressing that this plan represents the only credible and realistic solution, in accordance with the United Nations Charter, the Central African Republic has always stood by the Kingdom of Morocco and its efforts to find a peaceful and sustainable solution to this dispute.
The Minister highlighted the ‘excellent’ relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Central African Republic, expressing her aspiration to strengthen these relations and expand the horizons of cooperation between the two countries in various fields.
This reaffirmation by the Central African Republic of its support for the Moroccan Sahara and the autonomy plan comes in the context of the intensive diplomatic efforts undertaken by the Kingdom of Morocco under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to enshrine Morocco’s full sovereignty over its entire territory, including the Moroccan Sahara.
