Fes, Morocco: A fire broke out in a tailoring shop in the Fes Medina on Wednesday evening, causing panic and injuries among residents of the area.
According to preliminary reports, the fire started suddenly in the shop, and flames quickly spread throughout the premises. Local residents rushed to the scene to try to extinguish the blaze, but their efforts were unsuccessful due to the intensity of the fire.
Emergency services, including firefighters, civil protection, and ambulances, were called to the scene. By the time they arrived, the fire had already been largely extinguished. However, several people had been injured in the blaze and were taken to hospital for treatment. The extent of their injuries is not yet known.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. However, some witnesses have reported hearing an explosion before the fire started, suggesting that it may have been caused by a gas leak.
The fire has caused significant damage to the tailoring shop, which is located in one of the oldest and busiest parts of the Fes Medina. The medina is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is home to a labyrinth of narrow streets, souks (traditional markets), and historic buildings.
