Starting from the twenty-first of April of the current month, the Director General of the General Directorate of National Security and the General Directorate of National Territorial Control, Mr. Abdellatif Hammouchi, embarked on a working visit to the State of Qatar, as part of a tour to some Middle Eastern countries.
Mr. Hammouchi led a high-level security delegation, where meetings were held with His Excellency Major General Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Khalifi, Director of Qatar’s State Security, in the presence of several senior security officials from both sisterly countries.
This visit comes in an international context characterized by many variables and facing various security challenges.
This meeting provided an important opportunity to exchange views on the most important common security challenges between Morocco and Qatar, especially those related to transnational crimes and the terrorist threats facing the region. Discussions also addressed the implications of worrying developments in some tense areas around the world on the security and stability of both countries.
The meeting also served as an opportunity for both parties to enhance practical cooperation through activating important security partnerships. Ways to enhance security coordination between the two countries were agreed upon, along with exchanging experiences and expertise in all security fields, and intensifying efforts to counter the phenomenon of terrorism and confront its threats to the security and stability of both countries.
This visit reaffirms the depth of the fraternal relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the State of Qatar, and the mutual keenness to enhance security cooperation to address common challenges and confront the threats facing the region.
